Every April, Seattle hosts Restaurant Week. This is an 11-day celebration of amazing local cuisine that pays tribute to loyal diners in the area. The city features 150 restaurants, all offering three-course meals for only $28. It is a chance for the public to try out new restaurants or celebrate their favorite spots with one heck of a deal. It is fun, it is scrumptious and it is an event that can’t be missed. Refer to this list of four restaurants that absolutely deserve consideration during the celebration.

Located in the historic Pike Place Market, shopping for ingredients for their daily fresh sheet at Steelhead Diner is easy. The cuisine screams Pacific Northwest from the fresh fish to the use of local foods and products. Snuggle up to the chef’s counter and watch the action unfold. Weather permitting, they have a great patio overlooking Post Alley that provides ample people watching during your meal. With a great wine list and fabulous atmosphere, Steelhead is a must during restaurant week.

Different from the ever popular tapas style eating, Poppy provides each diner with a personal plate boasting 10 complementary flavors. From nettle gnocchi to chickpea soup and seared duck, the palate will never bore.

Ethan Stowell is a master in the kitchen. He has opened many restaurants around town, but Staple and Fancy stands out amongst the rest. Here, everyone is family. Food is served up for the whole table and the staff is warm and inviting. Participation from everyone is expected, so show up hungry. The menu options are limited because Stowell believes in quality over quantity. The cuisine changes often but maintains an overall Italian theme. With great wine, friends and fabulous food, Staple and Fancy might just be better than dinner at home.

A bit pricey normally, and deservedly so, Restaurant Week is the perfect time to get here and see what the hype is all about.
