TV and radio personality, comedian and author Steve Harvey’s dream of being a talk show host has finally come to fruition after many years of hard work and obstacles.
His teacher in elementary school asked him if he knew anybody in TV, had he ever been on TV … and the answer to all of those questions was no, but that didn’t stop him.
“She was destroying my dream,” Harvey said during an interview with First Forecast Mornings’ Anchor Syma Chowdhry in his new studio in Chicago.
Thankfully he had other influences in his life keeping him on the track of being in the entertainment business.
“My father had a 3rd grade education and was a construction worker. And he said to keep the faith and keep your head on that right there.”
Despite having a number of missteps in his lifetime, Harvey points to his Christian faith as a main factor in his success in the past and today. “I attribute that to a lot of faith. My mother was a praying person. I believe in that wholeheartedly that has a tremendous part to do with your success is in relation to your relationship with God,” explained Harvey candidly.
