RENTON, Wash. – The Landing shopping center in Renton developed two major events in May to support our local military families – both active duty and retired. A ticket drop after seeing the “GI Joe” Movie at Regal Cinemas created $500 in ticket stubs and cash donations. (Thanks to CW11 for getting the word out!)
The Memorial Day Sale, featuring Creative Mom Toys, c’est la Vie, Poggi Bonsi, and Vino at the Landing, dedicated a portion of the proceeds to Operation Military Family, generating another $600 in funding.
Operation Military Family’s “OMF Cares” is a non-profit organization committed to providing resources to help local veterans, active service members, and their families navigate life’s transitions. They provide literature for the spouses, have mental health guides, and can help connect families to critical benefits and services. Mike Schindler, after retiring from the Navy, has devoted the past 15 years to enriching and strengthening military marriages, veterans, and their families.

The Landing was honored to highlight our military this month.
