How many games can say that before the main character is even introduced the player is caught in an explosion that literally tears a hole in the sky? Not many. However, the CW11 video game highlight of the week can. Welcome to Dragon Age: Inquisition.
A highly anticipated third entry to the Dragon Age series and an award winner at the D.I.C.E. Awards, Inquisition was one of 2014’s biggest releases.
Inquisition is a role playing game (RPG for short). You create your own character and have a main quest, but the rest of the story is up to you. And I’m not kidding. You choose everything from your species to your romantic pursuit (the game is rated M, fair warning). It’s like real life, but dragons sometimes attack you, no big deal.
Now you’re probably thinking, “That’s cool and all, but what about the action? I’m here to fight. Do I look awesome doing that?” Yes. Yes, you do. Especially with realistic graphics, the rain reminds me of walking around Seattle (except right now when going outside brings the potential of heat stroke).
So there’s engaging story and intense action. What more could you ask for?
Maybe some rain, actually. Or some coffee…
