The Castle Ice Arena is located about 15 miles southeast of Seattle in the Renton Highlands area. Opened in 2001, this indoor skating rink offers two rink sizes: one full-sized and one half-sized rink. Daily operations consist of block times for skating activities. For example, morning hours are dedicated to figure skating, afternoons are strictly for public skating, freestyle and skating lessons, and evenings are for hockey leagues. Castle Ice Arena also offers open blocks of time to rent its ice rink for private parties or events.

In 2012, the Highland Ice Arena is celebrating its 50th year of operations. Located about 12 miles north of downtown Seattle, this ice rink offers skating lessons to private individuals or groups, public skating sessions and hockey practice for leagues. Highland Ice Arena will periodically have specials for skating, as well as free skating for the holidays. If you hold a birthday party here, group rates are offered to guests while the birthday child gets to skate for free.

The Lynnwood Ice Center is roughly 16 miles north of Seattle and is the home of the Seattle Skating Club and Junior Hockey Association. It offers a learn-to-skate program, daily public skating sessions, hockey schedules, and stick and puck sessions. If you would like to rent the ice rink for a private function, you will have access to party rooms, the rink’s music system and surround-sound speakers and the on-site snack bar.

The Kent Valley Ice Centre provides private and group skating lessons for those wanting to learn how to skate or develop professional skating skills. Types of daily skating sessions available include freestyle figure skating and public skating. Kent Valley Ice Centre is also the home of the Kent Valley Hockey Association and hosts hockey league practice, as well as stick and puck sessions. Private parties and organizations may rent the ice rink for school-related events and birthday celebrations.

Located at the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion, the Winterfest Ice Rink is a seasonal skating venue that opens the day after Thanksgiving and closes on New Year’s Day each year. This skating venue accepts cash only and caters to skaters of all ages and experience levels. In addition to providing festive ice skating through the holidays, Winterfest features ice sculpting, caroling and other memorable winter- and holiday-themed events.
