The city of Edmonds offers a variety of fitness classes at the Frances Anderson Center in downtown Edmonds. Classes offered range from Qigong and Kendo to Pilates Yoga Fusion and Personal Training. Each of the instructors is very knowledgeable in their field of fitness. During the summer months, the city offers lap swimming at Yost Park, the outdoor swimming pool. Classes are led by certified instructors and are reasonably priced.

This is a great place for low- or high-impact fitness classes. The recreation pavilion offers low-impact fitness through its extensive water exercise classes, such as Aqua Zumba, River Fitness, Arthritis Aquatic Program and others. Low-impact fitness classes are perfect for individuals with physical limitations or who are out of shape. Other fitness classes offered through the Pavilion are Cardio Hip Hop, Hawaiian Hula, Yoga and Martial Arts. Racket ball and tennis courts are available for usage through the pavilion. There are budget choices for the whole family.

Super Jock ‘n Jill is the meeting place for the free Monday Night Run. Participants meet at 6:15 p.m. to run a three- to six-mile course for the evening. Participants in the running group benefit from the group training through completing the nightly course, social interactions and the support of other runners. Occasionally, the group will go out after completing the run, and it’s a great way to get a little socializing done while you’re at it. Try something new and enjoy a great run to make you feel refreshed and awake.
